Where it all started…
Hi, I’m Tania! Born and raised in London, I’m a city girl who can’t really imagine leaving behind the hustle and bustle of metropolitan life.
A self-confessed over-packer, my “recreational” bag for holidays is always stuffed with stuff to do, from a plethora of hobbies. I’m basically incapable of leaving the house without a notepad and pen in my purse; even when I’m popping to the grocery store, you’ll find pencils and paper in my pocket. Who knows when I’ll be struck by a need to doodle, jot down inspiration notes, or (most of the time) pop down ideas that I hope to someday have time to make…
Curiously enough, I have a rather different background — in knitted textiles. Ever since childhood, my hands have been working away creating crochet soft toys, cosy knit beanie hats, lacy Summer cardigans, all the way to 3D printed installations for my final degree project.
And at the back of it all, I had one constant love: the technical side of artistry. The repetition, the striving to perfect one thing, the tiny changes that make all the difference. So, when I encountered the almost academic discipline of calligraphy back in 2023 (whilst on the hunt for the perfect details for my own wedding), I had a bit of an “oh. this is perfect” moment. Sort of.
I’ve always been told I have great handwriting (ignoring that awkward phase of dotting my i’s with hearts…), so you’d think that I’d be natural at calligraphy. However, being a leftie, it didn’t really click. Not until I came across one magical suggestion: turn the paper sideways and write top down. It sounds strange, but it also means people watching can see what I’m writing: a win-win!
With that hurdle overcome, it didn’t take me long to dive deep into all things hand-written, dedicating myself to this intricate, detailed, traditional art form.
Where it’s going…
Soon after picking up calligraphy, my attention was drawn to its little sister, engraving. And not long after that, my love of all things plants, wood and nature brought pyrography into my life.
So, here I am now — a jack of many trades, with talents extending to and encompassing calligraphy, engraving, heat foiling and wood burning. Watch this area, because I’m a real hobby-hoarder and won’t be able to resist adding bottle painting, live illustration, textile personalisation and more.
What do I actually do though? Well, my first love is weddings, creating those perfect day-of details for couples around the UK. From your welcome sign, to the table numbers, to the individual place cards and favours, I love bringing all the details together to match your dream aesthetic.
But I also love doing my work live, helping businesses and individuals to add that “wow” factor through live calligraphy, engraving and personalisation. It’s guaranteed to leave clients, employees, friends, family and followers raving about their personalised, immersive experience (and taking home a custom treasure).
