  • Of course, I absolutely love to work on creating the full experience, from a guest’s first experience entering your venue to the gifts they watch live-personalised in front of them!

  • I don’t do canned designs; everything I work on is custom for you, based on your dreams and vision. I recommend our eternal bestie, Pinterest, for pulling together a board that’ll jump-start the brainstorming process, and I can take it from there!

  • For all hand-personalisation services (calligraphy, engraving and pyrography) I offer three main styles: bouncy modern, traditional Spencerian, and an elegant style.

However, if you’re after something special, I love combining hand calligraphy with serif fonts (think the classic Times New Roman) and even custom monograms. Want a monogram designed for your wedding or event? Just let me know, I’d be more than happy to incorporate one into your package.

  • My focus is on brands and couples in the UK, but I do love a trip abroad and, on request, can cater to destination weddings. However, I recommend enquiring at least 6 months out, to ensure all your items arrive safely in time!

  • I start with setup - a portable hand-held drill, a selection of drill bits, a brush and simple fabric wipes, and a cushion for support. With these together, I can engrave on basically any surface!

Next, the performance itself! Customers choose their wording, either verbally or, for busier events, an order sheet. I start by drafting, to ensure the wording is balanced and beautiful. I then engrave this design using a hand-held engraving drill, creating a permanent impression. This can then be filled with gold, silver or copper lustre, to finish off the luxurious feel.

  • Yes, I can add gold, silver or copper fill to the hand-engraved design - additional colours available on request. However, not all surfaces are suitable, including frosted glass, and I do not recommend colour fill for any items that will be heavily used or washed.

  • Yes, engraving produces a gorgeous everlasting carving, making it brilliant for heirloom items. If the item will be heavily used or washed, I recommend not using any colour fill.

  • Within reasonable limits (please don’t ship me a whole entire cabinet!), I can receive and personalise your own items. In fact, for many custom orders including alcohol and perfume, I prefer if you source and ship your items direct to my house.

Engraving

  • In all parts of my process, I avoid single use items, for example using fabric cloths rather than paper towels. I also aim to source in a meaningful, sustainable way, finding pieces that are made from the start with love and care. If desired, I also offer rental-like options, that can be returned to re-use with future lucky couples.

  • I ship every order in biodegradable and recyclable packaging, and use carbon offsets at point of shipping to ensure your order has as minimal impact as possible. Please do your part by upcycling, re-using or recycling the packaging on arrival.

  • I aim to avoid leftover materials, however it is often impossible to avoid entirely. However, I re-use leftovers in a few ways:

    • As samplers for my calligraphy students

    • As practice surfaces for my own work

    • By sending to charities that distribute craft supplies to craft clubs and hospices.

  • As much as I am able to, yes. Unlike normal pens, my dip pen can be used for decades, with the only “disposable” part being the metal nibs. The same applies to engraving, and the burrs I use are cycled and used for many projects before they reach end of life.

However, certain inks, paints and materials may contain plastic (for example, acrylic paints) - I am currently working to find alternatives to these.
